Gamma Simple Mail Transfer Client is a demonstration for the SMTP protocol in a simple way, you will be able to use all the main parameters in a mail client and see how the requests are sent and how the server responds to these requests.
If you have a domain attached to your IP address then you are able to send emails from your domain directly ex:
if you have a domain: <exampledomain.com>
and this domain points to the ip address of your computer you would be able to send emails from any address in the form
sender@<exampledomain.com>
but if you sent an email from an external domain let's say yahoo.com and of course the domain does not points to your computer address then the email will be regarded as spam and will be filtered by the SMTP server.
Also if you tried to use an SMTP server as a relay server (i.e: use the SMTP server to send the email to another SMTP server the email probably will not be sent.
